Northern Lights are truly honoured to host the legendary climber Johnny Dawes for our November event.
Johnny will be reading from his long awaited autobiography Full of Myself which you can buy here.
He will also be signing copies on the night and talking about the book and his life. The event will commence at 19.30hrs. Please attend promptly to avoid disturbing Johnny's talk.

The second half of the evening will see our regular Northern Lights performers and, hopefully, more newcomers performing both their own and others' work. This section of the night will begin at 21.30hrs. Please book a spot in advance if you want to perform. Due to the narrow performance window, we are booking all performance spots in advance on this occasion. Email northernlights.spokenword@gmail.com to book a spot.

Northern Lights
NORTHERN LIGHTS is already one of Sheffield's most popular spoken word nights. It takes place on the second Tuesday of every month, upstairs at The Rutland Arms, Brown Street Sheffield S1 2BS.
NORTHERN LIGHTS is a spoken word night following in the tradition of Lenny Bruce, where there are no
boundaries, taboos or cliques and subversive is normal.
"Lenny Bruce's legacy is freedom of speech and telling it as it is, getting your life and putting it out on the table, telling everyone about it." Eddie Izzard, talking about the BBC2 documentary "Lenny Bruce is Dead."
Our aim is to bring you the best of Sheffield's writer/performers in a cosy, relaxed environment with ambient lighting and like minded people. Artists, musicians, poets, writers, techies, geeks, scientists
and boffins mingling together and inspiring one another.
